Betty J. Cooper joined Abernathy, Roeder, Boyd & Joplin, P.C., in January of 2003.

Betty supports Rebecca Brewer in the Municipal Law Section.

Clients that Betty works for include municipalities, school districts, police departments and other litigation clients. Her work consist largely of drafting pleadings, ordinances, correspondence, settlement agreements, contracts, easements, right-of-way deeds/agreements, condemnation documents, discovery requests and responding to public information requests.

Betty attended Texas A&M University and studied in the Political Science Department. Betty also continues to enhance her legal training by attending continuing legal education courses focusing on litigation and municipalities.

Prior to joining Abernathy, Roeder, Boyd & Joplin, P.C., Betty was a legal assistant for five years with the Hunt County District Attorney's Office and eight years with another law firm. Betty also worked for several years for the District Judges in Hunt and Rockwall Counties.
